As a professional Tour Guide for nearly 20 years in the UK, I have the experience to understand the needs of the discerning tourist which are not fully met in this part of the world. I set up Tailored Tours UK all those years ago and now Sikkim Tours with my friends in Sikkim who are indigenous to this area. I combine my extensive knowledge as a Buddhist practitioner with the geography of the area including meditation caves, mountain hermitages, ritual, rites and iconography. I'm a keynote speaker and presenter on child bereavement and death drawing on my experiences from the death of my own daughter Lydia and my own Buddhist practise. On a more lighter note, I can guarantee laughter with a typical English sense of humour coupled with an approachable and caring nature and this helps me engage with people from all walks of life.

What are we all about

Whilst travelling in Sikkim over the last 16 years, I noticed that the local tour companies do not meet the needs of the foreign tourist in terms of time keeping, attention to detail, comfortable cars, hands free mobile, car mifi, spitting, al-fresco eating, free water. and night time barking dogs.  I realised there is a market for a premium product designed to up-skill drivers and tour guides to meet this need and that's why I've set up Sikkim Tours. Please use this website intially as an infohub so that you can prepare yourself to get the best expereince when you get here and subscibe at the bottome of this page. Sikkim Tours plan to start in 2019. This is a non-profit organisation with a view to put the profits into an educational trust to bring about discussion and debate on gender equality and social inclusion in Sikkim.

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, he said:

Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.
Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.
And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present;
the result being that he does not live in the present or the future;
he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”
